Why do I need to have key words and phrases in my resume?

The job search landscape has changed. Recruiters find and review resumes and match them to positions based on the key words and phrases in the resume. We can help you find out what terms are being used for particular jobs, and help you gear your resume in the right direction.

Will you (a Rush Recruiting & HR representative) come and meet me in person?

Yes, for recruiting only. All other meetings are held at Rush Recruiting & HR or can be conducted via phone or skype.

How do you find someone who is the right fit?

We know it is very important, particularly in a small or family business, that you get an employee who ‘fits in’ with your operation. We conduct interviews with you and your staff to get to know everything about your business. We pride ourselves in our ability to immerse ourselves in your work-culture and find the right person that will fit for your company culture.

Why should I outsource my recruiting? Why can’t I just do this myself?

Ask yourself, “What is my time worth?” Recruiting takes many hours to find, screen, interview and hire the right fit for your business. Outsourcing your recruiting and hiring process gives you the time to work on growing your business.

Will you help me get a job?

We give you the tools you need to conduct your job search and can offer you consistent accountability check-ins that will keep you on track, however we cannot guarantee a specific job. We do not help job seekers find jobs.

We have a family operation, how do you get a great candidate not from our family?

Many times, family operations hire a cousin, a neighbor, a brother, even if that person is not particularly qualified, because they are worried about hiring outside of the family. They wonder, ‘how can someone not in our family care about our business the same way we do?’ We know this and we find candidates who are willing to work hard, to roll up their sleeves and have the attitude of  ‘whatever needs to be done, I’ll do.’ We take the time to outline your standards and company values in order to find the best candidate for your business.

Do you do the work or is this just a consultation?

Unlike many resume services, we do the work for you in terms of writing the resume. Our outsourced HR services are similar in that we seek out candidates, conduct the interviews and present the final candidates to you. Consulting is a part of this process, but it is not all we do.

What should be in a cover letter OR Do I need to have a cover letter?

Yes, you need to have a cover letter for each position you are applying for, and it should be made specific for each role. Most companies require a cover letter.  Your cover letter should highlight your skills and accomplishments that most closely align with the job requirements.

How much does it cost?

For Recruiting and HR Projects, we operate within a time and materials fee structure, so each project is different. You can contact us with your specific needs and we can provide a quote.

How is your fee structure set up?

We have a unique fee structure for recruiting and hiring in our industry. Most recruiters are paid a percentage of the new hire’s salary, but we use a search-time and materials-used model.

What happens if the person we hire does not work out?

We offer a 90-day guarantee on all new hires, and we will offer you recruiting services for another round at half of the original fee if your new employee is terminated within 90 days of hire.

How quickly can I get a resume?

Our resume process typically takes 2-3 weeks once the completed questionnaire and homework is received. If that’s too long, we can consult and provide suggestions on how to improve it sooner than 2-3 weeks.
